Reactive tower defence
A tower defence game I built because nobody was making the one I wanted. Seven maps, iPhone and iPad, and it does not go easy on you.
On iPhone. Wave three on The Gauntlet.
And on iPad. Sound on for the soundtrack.
Fair warning
There is no hand-holding here. The waves keep coming, the bosses ignore your maze, and one soft lane will undo nine good ones. If you have already finished the tower defence games everyone recommends and want one that bites back, this is that.
It looks good while it does it. Sharp neon, glow that bleeds, projectile trails, screen shake, and a synth score I had made for it. A board you will happily stare at, right up to the moment it punishes you.
I have played a silly number of tower defence games. This is the one I kept looking for and never found.
It goes back to geoDefense on the early App Store. Stark neon vectors, brutally hard, and a purity the genre quietly traded away for timers and pop-ups. So I built this one by hand to get that back. Every map, every wave and every tower got tuned until it felt right to me as a player, not as someone shipping a product.
If you love this genre the way I do, I reckon you will feel it.

Questions, bugs, or you have beaten The Gauntlet and want to tell someone: me@cmw.email. I read everything.
No ads. No in-app purchases. No energy timers, no daily rewards, no pop-up asking you to rate it. You pay once and that is the end of it.
From The Grid to The Gauntlet. Each one is its own puzzle, and each one will catch you out somewhere different.
Guns, walls, forest, water, bomb traps. Three tiers of upgrades. Sell the lot and start again when a wave proves you wrong.
They turn up on their own schedule, and they do not care about the maze you spent nine waves building.
The phone version is not the iPad one squashed down. Wide, shallow board, everything in reach of a thumb, glow and screen shake intact.
Game Center leaderboards for your best wave on every map, and an achievement for each one you clear.
Saves follow you between your iPhone and iPad. No sign-up, no connection needed, nothing to log into.
